Perhaps for some of us, it was fun to do sports at home with the excitement of the first days, but there must have been those who got bored with it over time. However, there are many ways to motivate ourselves to do sports at home. As the AdımSayar family, we are uploading various exercises to our blog for you to stay active in this process. Our current article tells you how not to get bored while doing sports at home. With a few simple suggestions, we can still get fit in the summer! Here are some suggestions for you not to get bored while exercising at home:

Try Exercise Videos!

In these times of social isolation, one of the most enjoyable ways to exercise is through exercise videos. Since the process we are going through affects all sports lovers, most trainers video their own flows and exercise programs and upload them to online platforms. In this way, we have the chance to host the most super trainers in our homes without going to gyms, which are actually very expensive, and without spending a lot of money. You can watch a different instructor’s class every day to keep things interesting!

Notice the Changes in Your Body!

You choose what kind of exercise you do at home. Whether it’s fitness, yoga or zumba! What you will do is increase the intensity from time to time as you exercise. Notice that you have a firmer body, that you can stretch further! Details like these will motivate you even more.

Reward Yourself

Try to think of fun ways to reward yourself for making home exercises part of your life. Start with small goals. For example, your first goal is to do three 30-minute strengthening exercises this week. Think about what would motivate you to achieve this goal. Maybe a light but delicious dessert? Maybe an apple crumble would be nice. But you have to earn it! Maybe there’s a book you’ve been wanting to buy for a long time but haven’t been able to order it. This can also be a motivation for you.

To make things even more fun, we have a suggestion for you: Write down the goals you want to achieve on pieces of paper and put them in a jar. Write down the rewards that will make you excited to complete your goals and put them in another jar. These can be anything that is fun for you. Each week, choose a new goal and reward from each jar to keep you excited about achieving your goals. Don’t forget to share with us too!

Make Feeling Better Your Goal

Whether your goal is abs, firmer glutes, a tighter butt, more forward flexion or stronger arms. But of course it is not possible to achieve these goals instantly. Therefore, after two or three days, it may demoralize you instead of motivating you. It’s human nature, we want everything to happen immediately. In such cases, your goal may be to feel better. You can do yoga for a better posture, for example. Such goals can be more motivating in the short term as you will get the feedback immediately after exercise, and of course in the long term, when you get the feedback, everything will be the way you want it.

Be Encouraged for More

If you don’t do your workouts in cycles, here’s a super opportunity to motivate yourself. Exercising in cycles can make things interesting and fun. It’s also great for turning your gym workouts into home workouts.

For those who want to know how to do a loop exercise, let’s explain. For example, do an exercise you normally do twice in a row without a break. Rest for 2 minutes and repeat 2-3 more times. Remember to customize your workout for both upper and lower body. It’s better to strengthen each area than to work on one area all the time.

Find an Exercise Buddy

Instead of following an exercise program alone, find people to motivate each other! Friends, neighbors, roommates! You can both encourage each other to exercise and check in with each other. You can even make exercising more enjoyable by sharing different exercises with each other!
